Former pakistan batsman Mohsin Khan has accused Misbah-ul-Haq to be a 'yes man' and claims that PCB favors such people for the role of Head Coach. Misbah is the first to be elected as both the head coach and the chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Team and has suffered heavy criticism lately.

Many former Pakistan cricketers and claiming Misbah-ul-Haq's selection as a head coach and chief selector to be not on merit and only because he follows the orders of PCB without any intervention. One such former cricketer is Mohsin Khan who believes that Misbah-ul-Haq is undeserving of these positions and feels that he is the main reason for Pakistan's poor run of form off-late. Misbah has been severely criticized for his team selection for the Australian tour and many believe that Sarfaraz Ahmed has been made a scapegoat and forcefully shown the exit door.

“Why has Misbah been given the posts of head coach and chief selector? Only because he is a ‘Tabidar’ (one who follows orders). He is a yes man. The board wants people like him in their employment,” Mohsin told GTV news channel.

“The board will never hire people like me or others as head coach or chief selector. Because they know I will not take any dictation and I will not compromise on discipline or selection on merit. Misbah has been picked because the board knows he will not confront or argue with them on any issue," he further added.

Mohsin was a member of the Cricket Committee which was accountable for the decisions taken by the coaches and the selectors. When the Pakistan team were performing poorly before the World Cup, he requested the Chairman Ehsan mani to fix meeting with head coach Mickey Arthur and chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq to discuss about the squad's performance. But all is requests were ignored due to which he resigned from the post. He believes the Cricket Committee is just an eyewash as the real authority lies with the Chairman and other board officials as they vetoed the selection of seniors Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik even though Misbah and captain bbar Azam wanted them in the squad.

“When I was first asked to head the cricket committee last year I was told by Chairman, Ehsan Mani that the committee would be able to hold accountability of coaches and selectors and that it would have authority,” he said.

“But at least thrice after the cricket committee was formed and before the World Cup I requested the board that I and other members of the committee would like to have discussions with the head coach, Mickey Arthur and chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq after the team continued to perform badly. On all three times the board made excuses and didn’t arrange the meetings which disappointed me a lot," he added.

“I felt the committee (which also included Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq) was an eye wash and the real powers lay with the Chairman and his officials. As soon as I resigned they made the committee active because they had decided to change the coaching staff of the Pakistan team after the World Cup,” he concluded.

Mohsin believes that Sarfaraz Ahmed was still the right man to lead the team and that his exclusion will come back to haunt the team in near future as he does not see anyb other player who is mentally ready to lead Pakistan.
