Gareth Bale is fed up and wants to leave Real Madrid, claims Guillem Balague
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has claimed that Gareth Bale is angry, fed up and wants to leave Real Madrid as soon as possible. The 30-year-old forward was linked with a move away but eventually ended up staying at the club and has contributed with four goals in seven appearances so far.
The Welsh superstar had been set to join Jiangsu Suning on a three-year contract over the summer, earning around £1 million a week, but Real Madrid pulled out of the deal because they wanted a transfer fee. That saw Bale leave the club’s pre-season game in Munich as reports added that the 30-year-old was not in the right mental state to play football. However, despite his move collapsing, Bale was still transfer-listed by the club and Zinedine Zidane even admitted that the former Tottenham star would leave soon.
No move eventually materialized for 30-year-old and with Real Madrid plagued with injuries Zidane had to eventually re-integrate Bale back into the team. That has seen the Welsh international flourish and has contributed to four goals so far - a total that is outdone only by Karim Benzema. Yet despite that and Bale becoming a regular feature on the team sheet for Real Madrid, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague claims that the forward is now fed up. The ESPN pundit added that he believes Bale no longer wants to play football for the Los Blancos and is waiting for his chance to leave the club.
"Gareth Bale is fed up. He can do this no longer. At a time when he began to stand out, knowing that as he plays matches his fitness would be sharpened, he suddenly had to watch the game against Bruges in the stands. Nobody knows why. He is angry, confused. When Zidane returned to the club, he decided he did not want Bale, without anyone having offered a clear reasoning. Bale was told that Zidane, with whom he has a professional relationship, had made an unequivocal decision and was preparing for his departure," said Balague reports the BBC.
The Welshman was heavily linked with a move away but with his move to China taken away by Real Madrid, he had no other potential suitors. Manchester United, PSG and even Bayern Munich all considered moves but the 30-year-old’s wages plus a transfer fee proved to be too much for them in the end. Balague added that Bale doesn’t understand why Real Madrid transfer listed him before changing their minds and for the first time since 2013, he’s considered leaving the club.
"What Bale does not quite understand is why the doors were opened, and then they did not let him go. Madrid agreed not to charge a transfer fee to the Chinese side Jiangsu Suning, but ultimately they backed down because they believed that another Chinese team were willing to pay a large amount for James Rodriguez, a rumour that ended up being false. For the first time since he arrived at Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, the Welshman wants to leave. He feels that it is not fair what is being done with him,” concluded the Spaniard.
