Jasprit Bumrah has revealed that the slower yorker he bowled in the match to get Shaun Marsh out was suggested by none other than Rohit Sharma. Earlier today, just before lunch on day three was called, Bumrah bowled a well directed slower yorker to get Marsh plumb in front of the wicket.
Jasprit Bumrah picked six of the ten opposition wickets that fell on the day three of the third Border-Gavaskar Test. But the wicket that has grabbed the most attention is that of Shaun Marsh which the Indian pacer picked off only his second slower delivery of the series.
"When I was bowling there, the wicket had become really slow and the ball had become soft," Bumrah told Cricinfo.
"Nothing much was happening. So, the last ball before lunch, Rohit was there at mid-off and he told me, 'You can try a slower ball
Bumrah picked Marsh off the last delivery of the second session just before the lunch was called. It was a two-pronged attack from Bumrah who not only managed to bowl it slowly but delivered it so full that the delivery ended being a yorker and caught Marsh off-guard plumb in front of the wicket.
"I tried to bowl a slower one, a fuller slow ball. Maybe it will dip or go to short cover. So that was the plan, and it worked," Bumrah said.
