Fenerbahce close in on Marcos Rojo acquisition
Manchester United have been trying to find a suitor for Marcos Rojo for while now, and this time it may come to fruition. The Argentinian has lost his place in United's defensive line due to Harry Maguire's recent signing and due to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's options, as he prefers Smalling as a backup.
According to Manchester Evening News, the 29-year-old is close to joining Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal. The centre-back saw his move to Everton blocked by the board, as they look at Everton as strong opposition for the first six spots in the Premier League.
Even if the move is imminent, United's very own Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still thinks of the player as part of the squad, "Yes, definitely. Why shouldn't I?", answered the manager on if he's still considering Rojo for selection.
"He’s had a very good pre-season. I think he’s getting closer and closer to the Argentinian setup as well, so let’s see what the future will bring.", confessed Ole, leaving the door open for a transfer regarding his player.
The centre-back position is one of the most densely populated ones in the Red Devils squad and they will look to offload one or two players to relieve their wage structure, along giving playing time to them.
