Tamil Thalaivas coach E Bhaskaran heaped praise on their raider V Ajith Kumar and said that he is an extremely talented player. Captain Ajay Thakur stated that they failed to win the match against Bengaluru because they were not able to capitalize when the Bulls were on the verge of an all-out.

Tamil Thalaivas didn’t get the start of the home leg that they hoped for as they lost by an 11-point margin in their match against Bengaluru Bulls. Thalaivas suffered an all-out at the start of the match and gave Bulls a lead. They were never able to overcome that lead even though they did come pretty close to it. They ended the first half while lagging behind by seven points but they made a decent comeback in the second half. Ajith came in as a substitute and turned out to be one of the top performers for them.

"Ajith is an extremely talented player. Today he showcased what he is capable of and we expect a lot more from him. Obviously, there’s a lot of room for improvement and I’m sure he will improve," coach E Bhaskaran said during the press conference.

None of the Thalaivas players was able to leave an impact on last night’s game. Rahul Chaudhari was substituted midway as he was only able to score two points from seven raids whereas Manjeet Chhilar failed in defence and didn’t get any points there. The highest raiding score was four by Ajay Thakur which makes it evident of how their raiding department did. The defence was sloppy and wasn’t able to do anything against Pawan Sehrawat and ended up gifting him points.

“We had the game in our hand. Had we taken the point when the score was 19-17, we could have been in a commanding position. We need to work on being able to capitalise on situations like those.

“He is a star player and teams obviously have to respect that and pick and choose their moments to tackle him. Of course, we could have been a little more aggressive. But when you are trying not to make any errors it gets a little difficult,” skipper Thakur commented.
