It would not be unfair to say that the Eliminator between Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddhas was one of the best of the PKL season. There was nothing to separate the teams till the end of the match, but Thalaivas narrowly made it to the semis, after winning the tie-break contest 6-4.

In a rare occurrence, the second eliminator between the Tamil Thalaivas and U.P. Yoddhas in the Pro Kabaddi League season 9 playoffs was deadlocked 36-36 on Tuesday. But after playing a tie-break, Tamil Thalaivas went on to win the match, and make it to their first semis ever, of the league.

Tamil Thalaivas coach J Uday Kumar has provided an update on skipper Pawan Sehrawat's fitness, who was injured in the first match of the season. According to Kumar, the Thalaivas management would wait till he has fully recovered from his knee injury before forcing him back into the mat.

Tamil Thalaivas started their PKL 9 campaign in the most unfortunate manner as Pawan Sehrawat, was stretchered off the mat during the match against Gujarat Giants, after suffering a freak knee injury. The incident happened during the first half of the match when the scores were leveled at 7-7.
