I guess trolling isn't for me guys, asserts Virat Kohli after Mean Tweets gaffe

In the wake of a major public backlash for his reply to a fan’s opinion in a recent video for his app, Virat Kohli has turned into one of the hottest topics on social media at the moment. However, the Indian captain who is rested for the ongoing T20I series against Windies asked the Indian fans to take things easy and calm down before things got out of hand.

The 30-year old skipper, who celebrated his birthday last week, took to Twitter to clarify his stance on the whole issue as he also suggested that he’d rather stick to being trolled instead of the other way round.

Earlier this week, Kohli had made some less-than-appreciated comments about an Indian fan and asked the latter to leave the country if he could not support Indian cricketers.

Kohli had admitted that he was not personally affected by the criticism but pointed out that if someone does not like Indian players while living in India then they should not be living in the country.

"I don't think you should live in India. Go and live somewhere else. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don't mind you not liking me. I don't think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right," Kohli had replied while recording a video for his newly-launched app

The Indian captain, who struck three consecutive centuries in the recently-concluded five-match ODI series against Jason Holder & Co. came under severe public criticism for this comment. Former Indian cricketers like Aakash Chopra and experts like Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to express their disappointment over the ace cricketer’s harsh words.
