Kuldeep Yadav stresses on importance of listening to MS Dhoni while bowling
Kuldeep Yadav has asserted that it is important for any bowler to listen to MS Dhoni’s tips because of the vast experience the wicketkeeper has got. The left-armer has also added that he feels fortunate to play alongside the former India captain who has done a lot for the Indian cricket team.
The combination of the Indian wrist spinners and wicketkeeper Dhoni has worked out well for both Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal as Dhoni keeps on giving important tips to them during games. It has been often recorded on the stump mic when Dhoni asks to bowl both of them in a particular channel or a particular type of delivery. The duo has used Dhoni’s vast experience behind the stumps and his ability to read batsmen’s mind to maximum effect in developing their game.
The left-arm unorthodox bowler has recently-opened up about the help that he gets from the former captain and said that it is important for the bowlers to adhere to Dhoni’s words.
“It is important for any spinner, any bowler for that matter, (to listen to Dhoni) when you have got the best wicketkeeper in the world. He carries a lot of experience, he shares things that are really important for youngsters, for me and Chahal, or for that matter, any fast bowler or spinner,” Kuldeep said, reported Times Now.
The Uttar Pradesh spinner has further added that the veteran wicketkeeper knows everything about a batsman which a bowler might have missed out. He also credited Dhoni for his achievements and service to Indian cricket.
"He just gives inputs, small tips, which really help us during games. It’s a lot of fun playing with him and I feel very lucky because I never thought there would come a time when I would be playing alongside Mahi bhai. He has played such high levels of cricket, and done so much for India. (The tips) sometimes work, sometimes don't, but the loyalty remains. He knows everything. Sometimes, you might not know small things about the batsmen, but he does,” the spinner explained.
