Reports | Manchester United eyeing move for wonderkid Martin Odegaard
Premier League giants Manchester United are monitoring Martin Odegaard who is currently on loan at Real Sociedad from Real Madrid. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Odegaard can make a difference but could face tough competition from other sides with Liverpool and Arsenal also interested.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Martin Odegaard to be a part of the youthful team that he is building reports the Sun. The attacker has been in fantastic form since moving to Real Sociedad on loan and has caught the eye of Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United, the Sun further reports. Odegaard’s value is being estimated around the £25 million mark and reports indicate that the promise of regular Premier League football will be enough to convince him.
The Norwegian was called into Norway’s senior squad at the age of just 15 years and this brought him into the limelight, eventually earning a move to Real Madrid a year later. However, at Los Blancos, he could only manage 2 senior appearances but has since improved leaps and bounds since then. The 20-year-old has spent the last three seasons out on loan improving and has delivered a few spell bounding performances for Vitesse. He’s continued that run of form this term contributing to 2 goals and 2 assists in 7 La Liga games.
This has also seen reports indicate that Zinedine Zidane is considering recalling him from the loan and integrate him back into Real Madrid’s first team. Odegaard has been so good this season that his performances have earned him the title of Player of the month for September. No player has also created more chances in the Spanish top-flight so far this season than the Norway starlet.
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid are interested in cashing in on the youngster or keep him for the long run. Odegaard too will have to consider the idea of either moving to the Premier League or staying at Santiago Bernabeu, a club he has always been a fan of.
