Supreme Court to give their verdict today on Lodha recommendations
The Supreme Court is expected to pass their orders on Monday on Lodha committee reforms, but BCCI president Anurag Thakur is expected to ask for more time to implement all the reforms. Citing the limited time, Thakur said that state associations need some time to change their constitutions.
After giving the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) a final deadline of 17th October to accept all the reforms, the Supreme Court is expected to pass their order on Monday, but the BCCI has suggested that they will ask for a further extension of dates.
Ahead of the hearing, BCCI President Anurag Thakur said, “BCCI needs to get all state associations on board to implement reforms. To do so, we need time, one or one-and-a-half-months more.”
Saying all the state associations have their own constitution and it would take some time to implement the reforms, Thakur said, “The time given by the apex court is less. I have yet to discuss the contents of my affidavit with my lawyer tomorrow.”
Among the full members of the BCCI, only Tripura Cricket Association, Vidarbha Cricket Association and Hyderabad Cricket Association have until now agreed to implement all the proposed reforms.
