Anjali Chand has registered the best-ever bowling figure, picking up six wickets without conceding a single run in Nepal’s encounter against the Maldives. The 24-year-old spinner has broken the record of Malaysia’s Mas Elysa, with the Malaysian bowler picking 6 wickets for three runs.

Nepal’s 24-year-old spinning sensation Anjali Chand registered the best ever bowling figure in T20I history picking up six wickets without giving away any run. In their encounter against the Maldives, the spinner picked up the wickets in 13 deliveries, which also consisted of a hattrick.

With the dominant display, the 24-year-old set the record across Men’s and Women’s T20I with the best-ever figures. Bowling first, the Nepal bowler sent all of her batswomen back to the pavilion with ducks, including three-golden ducks. Karuna Bhandari picked up two wickets, as the other two wickets were a result of their sharp fielding with run-outs. Further, three runs were off extras as they reached 16 runs.

Nepal bundled the Islanders for 16 runs in 10.1 overs, with Hamza Niyaz top-scoring for the Maldives with nine runs. Apart from Niyaz, wicketkeeper Hafsaa Abdhulla was the only other run-scorer as she scored four runs from 10 balls in the innings. The second innings, however, just lasted five deliveries as the Nepali openers scored three boundaries to close the game early.

In the Men’s T20I, India’s Deepak Chahar still holds the record for best figures, as he picked up six wickets giving away only seven runs in the T20I against Bangladesh, which incidentally also included a hattrick.
