Manish Pandey emerged as a key figure in Karnataka’s narrow one-run victory over rivals Tamil Nadu in the finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. Pandey, during his time at the crease, smashed the leggie Murugan Ashwin out of the ground over long-off as a man ran away with the ball that he hit.

Manish Pandey had the perfect game in Karnataka’s one-run victory over Tamil Nadu in the finals of the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Tournament. The right-handed batsman was central to powering the holders to a respectable score of 180 on a pitch which was assisting the batsmen, scoring 60 runs off 45 deliveries. Pandey’s knock consisted of four boundaries and two sixes, as he toyed with the Tamil Nadu bowlers. In the ninth over, Pandey stepped down the track and smashed the experienced Murugan Ashwin down the ground and out of the stadium. The ball never made its way back to the stadium, as the colossal six made its way straight to the roads. While the umpires waited for the ball to make it way back into the stadium, the cameras tilted towards the guy, who was seen running away with the match-ball.

The hilarious incident certainly caught the eyes of the commentators, who said the cameras have caught the guy red-handed while also mentioning that he would become famous. While the Karnataka skipper not only inspired the boys in the first innings with the bat, he also took two catches in the second innings alongside inflicting the run-out of Vijay Shankar, which turned the match on its head. Pandey was adjudged as the man of the match, for his all-round display in the tournament finale.
