Justin Langer has stated that he and the selectors have made it crystal clear about what Glenn Maxwell has to do in order to make it to the Australian Test squad. Maxwell has been out of favour from Australia’s Test squad despite the kangaroos failing to win their last two Test series.

After Australia’s Chairman of Selectors Trevor Horns clarified that he knew nothing about Glenn Maxwell’s comments regarding his Test team selection saying he doesn't know, "what the instruction was or who it came from”. Now. Justin Langer, too, has hinted that he and the selectors know what he has to do in order to find a place in Australia’s Test team.

"Glenn is crystal clear from me, and the selectors, what he needs to do to get back in the Test team. He is crystal clear" Langer was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Maxwell is all set to play the county cricket in England this year where he will play for Lancashire. Maxwell had earlier stated that he had offers to play the county cricket last year too but did not take part in them because of the message that was seemingly conveyed to him by the board.

"He has shown he is brilliant around the group in white-ball cricket. There have been some reports about personality - it is literally false. It's not true.

"He is crystal clear what he has to do, and that's important that he knows that and that I know that as the coach and one of the selectors, and all the conjecture about it, that's all part of the noise," Langer added.

Langer also expressed frustration when some of the journalists kept on insisting on the same points regarding Maxwell’s comments. Though he apologised profoundly for his outburst immediately.

"Are you certain that's what happened? Did it happen? Well, you're telling me it did happen, I'm asking did it happen? No, I've got zero knowledge of that. Careless whispers.

“Hey, So sorry everyone for getting grumpy, I didn't mean to get grumpy, but the truth is a beautiful thing,” Langer told the journalist.
