Vidarbha pacer Umesh Yadav has revealed that he is definitely looking to dismiss India teammate, Cheteshwar Pujara, in the upcoming Ranji Trophy finals between the two teams. Yadav revealed that his side is looking to restrict Pujara to scoring as less runs as possible in the coming days.

Indian batsman, Cheteshwar Pujara, has been in terrific form for both country and state in the last few months putting up a lot of runs in various competitions. The Indian Test team member was also adjudged as the man of the series in the historic 2-1 Test series win against Australia last month.

However, Umesh Yadav, who was also part of the same Indian team that defeated Tim Paine & Co. revealed that his national squad teammate will definitely be a target for him in the upcoming Ranji Trophy final between Saurashtra and Vidarbha.

“Definitely it is a tough challenge. Every opposition wants to get him out as soon as possible. If he spends time in the middle and gets his eyes in, he is going to score big. Mr Pujara just bats on and on. I’ll definitely target him and getting him early will be good for me as well as my team,” Yadav told CricketNext.

Saurashtra comfortably eased past Karnataka in their semi-final encounter as Pujara starred with the bat in the second innings. Meanwhile, Yadav picked up twelve wickets for defending champions Vidarbha in the semi against Kerala.

“How long can Pujara keep batting alone? We don’t have problem in getting 10 wickets from the other end. Our plan is to ensure that Pujara scores as less as possible, he might have to change his game,” Yadav added.

Vidarbha will hope to win the domestic tournament for the second time in a row as they take on a tough Saurashtra team led by Pujara in the final of the 2019 -19 Ranji Trophy season which will be held in Nagpur.
