Australia and New Zealand are always tough oppositions to play against, due to their amazing home support that gives the players added confidence and makes them bullish on the pitch. It was seen in the second Test match at Wellington when Kiwi's Neil Wagner tried riling up Bangladesh's Mahmudullah.
The Bangladesh cricket team are having a tough outing in their ongoing tour of New Zealand as they've lost their opening two Test matches in miserable fashion. Mahmudullah’s side succumbed to an innings and 52-run loss in the opening game in Hamilton and followed that up with an innings and 10-run loss in the second match in Wellington.
However, there was an interesting competition in the second Bangladesh innings as away team skipper Mahmudullah and Kiwi pacer Neil Wagner were involved in a healthy on-field verbal battle for the most part of the day. The away captain toiled hard in the middle as he registered a neat 69 ball 67 before he fell to a delivery by Wagner that was caught by Trent Boult.
But before he could depart, Mahmudullah and Wagner had a brief exchange of words at the end of the 52nd over. While most of the audio is inaudible, it can clearly be heard that the New Zealand bowler asks his Bangladeshi counterpart to show some class while batting. Old school sledging, at its best!
