WATCH: Mohammed Shami laughs off RCB appeal only to be given out by third umpire

After enduring a series of defeats, Royal Challengers Bangalore finally got back to the winning ways, thanks to a half-century from skipper Virat Kohli and some exceptional bowling by Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel. Batting first, RCB first posted 161/6 in 20 overs, and the hosts failed to chase down the total and fell short of 10 runs. However, the last over of the game Shami was sent back to the hut in an embarrassing fashion.

Needing 13 runs of the last over, it was all down to Shami to ensure the home side got a consolation win and stopped the visitors from completing a double over them. On the second ball of the last over, Shami tried to make room for himself, by taking a step out of his crease, and attempted to hit the ball out of the park but ended up missing it completely. Vinod, who already had an unsuccessful stumping appeal against his name in the match, quickly whipped the bails off.

Shami, who thought he had his foot inside the crease, laughed off at the appeal, but little did he know that his smile would turn to frustration within the span of few moments. The leg umpire was unsure about the dismissal and went upstairs to take the suggestion of third umpire Yeshwant Barde, who after checking replays, ruled Shami out. Negi, within the space of three deliveries also dismissed Shahbaz Nadeem to secure a consolation win for the wooden spooners.
