Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has asserted that the Windies lower-order batsmen were the difference in the outcome of the third ODI against India. With the Windies reeling at 227/8 by the end of the 45th over, Ashley Nurse managed to score a quickfire 40 to help his side secure a 43-run victory.

On Saturday, India lost the 3rd ODI match against Windies by 43 runs despite yet another a magnificent innings by Indian skipper Virat Kohli who score 107 off 119. But it proved to be inconsequential to the result. Windies batsman Shai Hope (95) came agonisingly close to scoring another century but it was Nurse who provided late fireworks to guide his side to a competitive total.

“I think we bowled well as a unit, till the 35th over we were pretty good, yes we gave a little bit of runs in the end, so may be that could be the difference. Overall the bowling performance was not to bad. They played well as well and you have to give credit to the batsmen. It’s a combination of both,” Bumrah said after the match.

“Bhuvi started well, but in the middle or in the end, it can happen sometimes. When you bowl at the depth, it is difficult. It is not necessary that all bowlers will click every-time.”

Meanwhile, Bumrah was very impressed by the performance of bowlers who serviced a good batting scoring 90 runs, apart from Jason Holder who is tagged as an all-rounder.

“If you say that their bowlers made 90 runs, then Jason Holder is an all-rounder. They batted well down the order.”
