Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has suspended the life membership of two members and terminated them from their respective posts after they were caught in a sting operation. These administrators were caught on camera in a sting operation agreeing to pick any player for cash.

After the DDCA, the latest sting operation that was conducted in domestic cricket was in the state of Jharkhand. Two members of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association were accused of practising the cash-for-selection scam to promote a select group of players.

In response to the charges on two district officials, Ranchi District Cricket Association (RDCA) and Latehar District Cricket Association (LDCA) secretaries, Md Wasim and Amalesh Kumar suspended the life membership of both the accused and terminated them from their posts with immediate effect.

These administrators were caught on camera in a sting operation which was conducted by a Hindi channel, agreeing to pick any player in district teams of different age groups for cash. They further claimed that even the selection into the Jharkhand side can be easily influenced by cash.

“There is a system for selection of teams and no single person can influence it. However, the allegations are serious and JSCA would take strongest action after proper probe. The news channel has shown edited report. I will soon come forward with all the evidences,” RDCA MD Wasim denied any wrongdoing.
