Vinod Rai has confirmed that there has been no decision regarding India and Pakistan World Cup clash as of now and the board will take it to the ICC in the next week’s meeting. He has also asked the cricket community to deter their cricketing ties with the country from which terror originates.

There have been reports coming out from several BCCI officials that the India-Pakistan clash on June 16 in Manchester might not go ahead and India potentially forfeit the encounter in the wake of the terror attack in Pulwama where 42 Indian soldiers were killed after a suicide bomber crashed into their convoy. The incident has created a strong reaction among Indian citizens and people are calling to stop all the ties with the neighbouring nation.

While today’s meeting in Mumbai was supposed to bring some sort of solution to the fiasco, Rai has brought more confusion to the table. However, he made sure that the issue will come up in the ICC meeting, starting on February 27 in Dubai.

"No decision yet on India's World Cup match against Pakistan. We will express concerns to ICC. We are in talks with government on scheduled India-Pakistan clash in World Cup,” Rai said after a top-level BCCI meeting, reported Indian Express.

While Rai didn’t make any point clear about weather India would ask for a ban on Pakistan, he stated that for the betterment and security of the cricketers, ICC should sever ties with any cricketing nation from where terror originates.

"We'll write to ICC expressing our concerns about attacks that took place and that security of players, officials and everybody else must be taken care of. We're telling cricketing community that in future we must sever ties with nations from where terror emanates," Rai added.
