As much his younger sibling Sam Curran is rising up in the ladder, Tom Curran can’t claim of having the same success in last one year. Yesterday, the elder Curran failed to collect a simple throw and as a result, missed out on a golden opportunity to run Adelaide Strikers’ Cameron Valente out.

One of England’s most prominent player in their bid to win the World Cup and Ashes back home, Tom Curran had a quite 2018. However, in the Big Bash League, he seemed to have gained his mojo back as he has taken 11 wickets at an average of 15.73 in this year’s BBL, but his fielding form has plummeted drastically.

In the match against Adelaide Strikers, Curran bowled a slow delivery to which Valente fended it tow cards gully. There was never a run on offer, but thanks to the urgency of the situation, Valente decided to go for a run, clearly putting himself under danger as his partner at the other end Jonathan Wells had almost reached the batsmen end.

Valente then started running before the throw from the gully could reach Curran. It was as easy a chance it could get but Curran failed to collect the ball. His failure in receiving the ball resulted in Curran missing the ball by a mile before giving a chance to Valente to make his crease.
