Rivals on the field are not the same anymore with the introduction of franchise cricket. One of those examples was seen in the final of the T20 World Cup as Rishab Pant’s cheeky comments from behind the stumps left Quinton de Kock in smiles with India going loggerheads with South Africa.

The toss is often marked as important in a huge final and Rohit Sharma benefited with luck in the grand stage. However, Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada’s early scalps inside the powerplay pushed the Men in Blue on the back foot. Virat Kohli and Axar Patel’s gritty knocks stabilised the stage and helped India to post 176 runs in 20 overs. Similar to their counterparts, South Africa incurred a couple of jolts before Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs stabilized the stage.

The fifth ball of the sixth over saw Kuldeep Yadav come over the wicket and bowl a fuller one at the off stump. De Kock shimmied down the strip and pushed it towards the right of the bowler but was denied a single. Subsequently, Pant behind the stumps was seen engaging in a friendly banter with the batter, leaving de Kock in smiles. Although it wasn’t sure what the gloveman told the left-hander, seeing the heart-warming moment, the Twitterverse abuzz.

And its a high pressure game!

The margin of error on the biggest stages is quite low and the game of cricket flows in a similar route. A huge no-ball from Marco Jansen destroyed the reputation of a brilliant delivery that initially earned the applause of Quinton de Kock as India and South Africa went loggerheads in Barbados.
