High-pressure games can lead to questionable decisions, and Pakistan skipper Salman Agha handed the initial advantage to India even before the first ball was bowled. In a head-to-head dominated by the chasing team, he opted to bat first just to avoid the pressure of chasing in a high-stakes game.

‌India lined up against Pakistan for their second game of the Asia Cup T20 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. With the pressure mounting just before the high-octane game, Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha handed the advantage to India even before the first ball was bowled.

In a ground where sides have often preferred chasing, his decision baffled many a cricket fan as India won the psychological battle at the spin of the coin itself. Moreover, the head-to-head between India and Pakistan since 2014 has been dominated by the chasing side.

In eight games played between the sides, seven have been won by the team batting second. And the Men in Green’s start justified their nerves too, as they were reduced to 6/2 within the second over.
