And the ref blows the whistle as Chennaiyin go up with another feeble attempt. This has been an all Jamshedpur show at the JRD Tata complex. They have reined the match since minute one with Chennaiyin not taking any shot till the half hour mark and Jamshedpur going 2-0 up. Chennaiyin did manage to up the tempo in the second half but their only goal from a controversial penalty that replays showed was actually not.

Jamshedpur moves to the third position with Chennaiyin reeling at the bottom.

Another altercation here. Cahill is fouled by Mailson Alves here. The Australian is loving his time wasting tactics but Arques is unhappy with it! 

Augusto takes a shot from distance as Subrata takes it in his lap. Waste of a chance but Chennaiyin are not doing much anyway.

Memo has all the way up to the right flank as Mailson Alves bowls him over! That is atrocious but the lineman says otherwise!

Chennayin have lost all hope here as there is no urgency or intent in their movements. John Gregory is furious with it.

Faroukh has been doing all the leg work for JFC here. He has been a difficult opponent to handle for Chennai.

Calvo is down and he is being stretchered off I think! That is a bad sight and Jamshedpur have no change to make!

Faroukh is brought down by Germanpreet. But the ref stays mum, Cerrando takes the ball and refuses to give it!

A rash tackle by Mailson Alves on Robin Gurung as he just takes out the JFC player totally. But, the Chennaiyin player doesn't get the card. That is strange!
Oh, Nelson gets a card for arguing here. Absolute madness!

Tiri turns round Thoi to shield the ball before giving it upfield. Exemplary defending by the Spaniard and Chennaiyin should learn a lesson or two from them.

Almost a chance for Chennaiyin. Carlos Salom is under no pressure on the right flank and his cross is staright at Thoi Singh inside the box. But, a sliding Tiri makes all the difference! 

Chennaiyin have the players to score at will and it would be an intense 15 minutes for Jamshedpur!

Horrible defence by Chennaiyin again. Calvo's corner is directly to Mario Arques, who takes a shot almost instantly, Raju Gaikwad, standing near the goalline, swings his foot but no touch... That should do it for Jamshedpur.

What a miss by Cahill!

Soosairaj runs down the left flank by nutmegging Fernandez before escaping Thapa's sliding tackle. He lays it off for Cahill and he misses it from 3 yards. What a horrible miss by the quality player! Shameful for the Australian!

A small tussle between Calvo and Germanpreet. The Brazilian Augusto had a slight nudge on Calvo but it was very little touch.

Farouk playing much deeper in the wake of Chennaiyin's string of attacks... Something Passi wasn't doing effectively at all. He has been helping as the perfect wall for Calvo and Morgado.

Another loose ball by Jeje sees JFC winning the ball easily in the defensive third. He has been off this season and I won't be surprised if he is taken off!

Faroukh booked!

Within a minute of his introduction! That was an unlucky slip by both Augusto and  Faroukh. But, the striker's foot slides in with the Brazilian and the ref goes to his pocket! Harsh!

Morgado has held his place higher on the right flank and although he has been kept silent so far, his clinical movement can be worrisome for Chennai.

Jamshedpur took just three passes to turn defence into attack. Exactly, something that Chehaniyin are missing! Meanwhile, Calderon's cross is cleared by Gurung as he jumps higher than Gregory Nelson.

Horrible attempt by Passi after Calvo releases him at the edge of the box with no pressure whatsoever! I don't know what he was trying to do there. It was pathetic attempt!

Augusto looks to go up with a one-two but Jeje's first touch pass to Calderon by Jairu. CFC does nothing from the set-piece.

And CFC gives away the ball almost immediately after getting it! Jamshedpur look to play deeper here and look in no urgency to press.

Jamshedpur have been at their dominant best as usual at their home and  CFC are desperate need of creative juice in the attacking third. Andrea Orlandi has been lined up to come in on the second half. For Jamshedpur, Ferrando would know that the fixture is far from over and if they sit back, like they did against Kerala after leading 2-0 in the first half, they are inviting suicide.

Last chance for CFC end in Jeje failing to hold on to the ball after Maison did really well to keep the ball in from Nelson's decent coss.

Jamshedpur are happy to clear the ball now. They don't want to take any risks whatsoever. 

Three minutes added!

Robin Gurung, Calvo and Morgado try to pry in CFC defence one last time before the first half ends, But, Jerry shows strength to take the ball outside for a goalkick.

Despite getting back into scoring form, CFC's defence is half as good as Jamshedpur who has Tiri leading the line with example. The midfielders seem to take instruction from him that has helped the hosts hold structure with ease.

Half chance for CFC as Calderon's long ball inside the box is met by Mailson who heads it inwards. However, Augusto's header from that is soft and settles in goalkeeper's hands.

Calderon passes the ball to Jeje on the right flank and his attempt to control it sees the ball going out for a corner. CFC could do nothing from it.

Subrata hits the long ball out at the technical area! The veteran goalie has been JFC's biggest weaklink this season so far and Ferrando will be wary of his blunders today.

Chennai are yet to get a single short on target and Gregory would need to bring in creative reinforcements sooner rather than later here! Augusto is getting the ball almost at halfway line and he is almost always stopped early on.

JFC are pressing with just three man who are enough to bother CFC so far, who have given away the ball cheaply. Meanwhile, Gregory Nelson has brought down Calvo.

Chennai get a genuine chance in the attacking third as Raju fouls Jerry. However, Thapa's freekick is headed out by Alves. What a waste!

Eli Sabia is seen playing in the attacking third here alongside Augusto! It shows how badly CFC need some inspiration here!

A Penalty for JFC!

Memo gives the ball to Soosairaj on the left. He again cuts back inside to the box and tries to curl in at the far post. Karanjit gets a hand but the rebound sees the ball falling to Passi who is going to take the shot as Jerry fouls him!

Ferrando has cut across as a disappointed man so far in the match despite his team leading. It is because of the host of missed chances his team has missed so far. 

It has been JFC all along so far with CFC ending up defending everytime they attempting to go up. Calvo and Morgado have been their only dangerous opponents but they are doing nothing to stop them!

Jerry has been found out many times today by Pablo Morgado who is ruling the right side here. He goes on another such run before his ball is again cleared for a corner. Mario Arques gets to the header form Calvo's corner but couldn't keep it down.

JFC arent found to be pressing high but they are unreally clinically up top and if not for some last ditch interceptions by CFC defence, they would have been out of the game already!

Almost another by Soosairaj!
Calvo at the thick of things again as he lays it off for Soosairaj on the left flank. The Indian youngster takes Calderon on a tour with his twist and turn but his cross is just cleared by the CFC defence.

Goal JFC!

Calvo's freekick is headed away by Mailson Alves, but the ball goes shortly further to Pablo Morgado 30 yards from the goal. He takes it on his chest and blasts a curling effort with the outside of his boot. The ball settles at the far corner with the goalie nowhere near it!

Jerry is caught out of position and Morgado runs behind him with the ball. The full back uses his hand to stop him and the ref has blown his whistle.

A close save for Chennaiyin!

Robin Gurung passes down the line for Soosairaj whose grounded ball is seen having a horrendous clearance by Eli Sabia as the ball whiskers his own goal. JFC could do nothing from the corner.

Calvo in the attacking third takes the ball up and gives it to Morgado on the right flank. His cross falls to the deep left where Soosairaj is waiting. However, the youngster fails to take the ball past Calderon and it is kicked out for a corner.

A scary sight for Chennai fans here as Augusto is down on the ground writhing in pain after a challenge by Passi behind holds his ankle. The game has been stopped for the moment.

Germanpreet has looked more active in the early minutes trying to play one-two and string together some dangerous passes in the attacking third. But, JFC have shown composure to keep them at shore.

The tempo early on has been slow with the play bombed down the midfield. Both the sides would want to take early precautions from a defensive blunder here.

An erratic Jamshedpur FC will be taking on an improving Chennaiyin FC in the 39th match of the season as the Men of Steel look to get back to winning ways. The Marina Machans, on the other hand, have finally started to look like a side that are getting things into places.

The biggest jolt of the season for Jamshedpur came in the form of Gaurav Mukhi, who has been handed a six-month ban for age-fudging in ISL. With the strike force being sliced off his attacking talent, which had provided the Men of Steel with the necessary pace and incision up front, manager Cesar Ferrando will have to dig deeper to get his side into winning ways that has often settled for a draw this season. 

Chennaiyin FC, on the other hand, are at the back of their solo win of the season and the positive return of Mailson Alves into form, who inspired the side against FC Pune City. With the likes of Jeje Lalpekhlua also getting his game time after an initial fumble in the season, manager John Gregory would hope to make the most of the favourable result that the lower table sides had managed in the first three games after the 10-day break.
