FULHAM SIGN JOACHIM ANDERSEN ON A SEASON LONG LOAN SPELL

After hours of negotiations, Fulham have signed Olympique Lyon defender Joachim Andersen on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season. The 24-year-old signed for Lyon only last summer in a club-record €30 million move from Sampdoria but struggled to impress.

That combined with Lyon's desire to add new faces has seen the Danish international leave for Fulham and Andersen admitted that he's looking forward to playing in the English top tier.

"I’m really happy to make this move. I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier League and playing for a nice club like Fulham.

"It’s a league I’ve been following since I was a child and it’s a big, big dream to play in the Premier League, so I’m looking forward to it."

SOUTHAMPTON HAVE SIGNED THEO WALCOTT

The 31-year-old returns after a loooooooooooong absence at St Mary's and after spells at Arsenal and EvertonWalcott is back on St Mary's soil after 15 years and has signed on a one year loan deal for the remainder of the 2020/21 season. He has asked fans, and others, not to judge him when, and not if, he cries on his return back to Southampton.

“I had a few opportunities from other clubs, but as soon as Southampton came in for me, it’s part of me and has made me into the player I am. It’s in my heart.

“I will probably cry, I bet, when I first play, and it means so much. All the people that made it happen, I can’t thank them enough. Honestly, I’m so pleased.

“I was seriously lost for words when Southampton came on the table, and for me it was such an easy decision.

“To get the chance to work with the manager as well and these young players that are coming through, I feel like I’ve made the right choice.”

“Manchester United is one of the greatest clubs in the world, so it is a real honour to be here. I’ve worked really hard during the time off and I feel eager to compete and represent this incredible club. I have played in front of some of the most passionate supporters in football during my career and I know that it will be the same in Manchester.

"I cannot wait to experience the Old Trafford atmosphere, when it is safe for the fans to return. I look forward to continuing to write my little story inside the book of football and I know that’s why my focus has to remain the same as always - work, work, work. A move for Brandon Williams was also on the cards but that may not happen with United looking to keep their man.
