Following SLC chief's comments that the security was 'too tight' and the players were fed up during the tour, PCB has said that they only wanted to make their stay as comfortable as possible. The Sri Lanka team recently returned after completing a historic win over Pakistan in their den.

The Sri Lanka Cricket chief Shammi Silva has voiced his disappointment about the recently-concluded Pakistan series. He said that the security was too tight and the players felt stranded sitting in their hotel room for three to four days together. Sri Lanka has returned to Colombo after their historic 3 - 0 win over the hosts.

The Pakistan Cricket Board seem disappointed after such remarks by the SLC chief to the media. The fact that these remarks have come after the Sri Lankan team were provided presidential level security have hurt the PCB even more.

“The PCB is very disappointed and hurt over such comments as presidential level security was provided to the visiting team on the insistence of their board. We wanted to make their stay as comfortable as possible,” a source said according to a Scroll.in report.

The Sri Lanka team which toured Pakistan recently was accompanied by the SLC President and Secretary and the sports minister of Sri Lanka although as many as 10 of their senior players opted out of the tour due to security issues. The PCB has also claimed that the visitors were given options to go out for shopping or play golf all while they were entertained at official functions and dinners.

These seemingly harsh comments from Silva has come as quite a blow to PCB's dream of bringing back international cricket to the country. PCB is trying to host the Sri Lankan team for two Test matches and have also invited Bangladesh for a Test series. The PCB is also trying to host the entire fifth season of the Pakistan Super League in Pakistan and all this based upon the recent Sri Lanka tour.
