Cricket is a game of bare margins, and a miscommunication between the officials and players could potentially cost a match. Captain Rishabh Pant was vividly unhappy after his DRS call was misunderstood by the onfield umpire with the TV umpire not checking for an Ultraedge, leading to epic drama.

Winning the toss in their home game, KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, opted to bat first. Although they lost an early wicket of Quinton de Kock, another left-hander, Devdutt Padikkal took the crease, accompanying Rahul. However, an unprecedented drama unfolded in the fourth over when Ishan Sharma was bowling his second over of the spell.

Having conceded a wide in the third three deliveries of the over, Ishant missed his radar for the second time as he bowled a down-the-leg stump delivery on a good length that Padikkal tried to poke. The square leg umpire signaled it as wide but Pant decided to review it. The on-field umpire sent it upstairs, thinking it was a DRS for wide, and the TV umpire did not even refer to Ultraedge, resulting in epic drama between Pant and Rohan Pandit. The verdict remained as a wide and DC lost the review but the 26-year-old was seen as unhappy with the decision and engaged in an extended argument with the umpire, thereby sending the Twitterverse into a frenzy.
