Guido Pella and Arina Rodionova have received death threats on social media following their respective losses to P. Gojowczyk and Xinyun Han. However, both of them had contrasting reactions to the threats, while Pella was deeply affected by the threats, Rodionova hit back at them.

While there is no denying the fact that sports are a matter of life and death for both the players and the fans alike, there are times when things are taken a step too far and players are threatened about their life. An instance of this was evident when Guido Pella and Arina Rodionova both received death threats on social media after their recent losses at the Jiangxi Open.

After her 1-6, 7-5 loss to Xinyun Han at the Jiangxi Open, Rodionova received death threats on social media, however, she hit back at those who threatened her, with the following Tweet.

On the other hand, Guido Pella was accused of throwing away the match during his 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 defeat to Peter Gojowczyk of Germany at the Atlanta Open. After the match, the Argentine and his family received death threats on social media to which he responded with this Tweet.

'What a sadness the amount of messages where they say me horrible things, 45 messages, I counted them. I run for two hours and 15 minutes, not the time I wished for... I always run and play to win, obviously they all bet, but for me it would be okay that they wouldn't attack my daughter but me.'
