Over five days of a Test match, fans witness a host of bizarre incidents on and off the cricket pitch and the final Test at The Oval was no different. While taking a single, KL Rahul lost his shoe and after completing the run without it, Ben Stokes made sure that he was reunited with it.

India had lost the wicket of Shikhar Dhawan early in the innings and it was KL Rahul, who, along with Cheteshwar Pujara, tried to stabilize things for the Indians. In the fifth over of the Indian innings, Rahul nudged a Ben Stokes delivery on the leg side and immediately called for a single.

But the Karnataka batsman's shoe was not tied properly and his boot popped out when he started running for a quick single. Stokes then went ahead in his follow through and on realizing that there was something lying on the wicket, he picked up Rahul's boot and returned it to the opener.

The boot landed in the danger zone of the pitch and the commentators joked about whether the opener would be fined for "damaging the pitch". On a day when India struggled to wipe out the English tail, the incident came as a light moment where both sets of players shared a smile
