VIDEO | Shaheen Afridi hilariously runs past the ball conceding a boundary
Shaheen Afridi began Adelaide Test with a ripper to dismiss Australian opener Joe Burns before David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne stitched a good partnership. Afridi’s night, however, turned ugly when the left-hander could not spot the pink ball after a sharp cut from Warner to the deep boundary.
After opting to bat, Tim Paine elected to bat first in the second Test against Pakistan. Bowling with the new ball, Shaheen Afridi got the ball to wobble a bit, as the openers Burns and Warner struggled. Burns became a victim as Afridi’s wobbly delivery found the right-hander’s edge giving the tourists a well-deserved wicket early in the Test.
However, since then things turned ugly as Warner and Labuschagne began attacking the Pakistani bowlers. Australia, at the end of the dinner break, scored 139 runs for the loss of just Burns. Just following the dinner break, Warner resumed to crash the ball across to the boundary.

In the 42nd over of the innings, Warner was on the back-foot when he cracked the ball towards the incoming fielder Afridi for a single off the spinner Ifthikar Ahmed. However, Afridi’s hilarious attempt at fielding gave away a boundary, which angered the spinner.
Afridi, following his attempt, ended up raising his hand to apologise to the bowler by pointing at the lights across the ground. While it is also a possibility that the teenager could not sight the ball, with the pink ball having a reputation of visibility issues, it could very well be the pink ball that was the reason for Afridi’s hilarious sprint across the boundary as it left the commentators shocked.
