Eoin Morgan considers loss to Scotland a lesson for England ahead of Australia series
Eoin Morgan has stated that England's shocking six-run loss to Scotland will serve as a lesson for the upcoming Australia Series. England will have only a few days to recover as they will be facing Australia at The Oval this Wednesday for the first of the five matches they'll play in the series.

With Johnny Bairstow making 105 and a 71-run partnership formed by Moeen Ali and Liam Plunkett, England was expected to chase the score. But the Scotland bowlers hindered the chase by constantly taking wickets and with Safyaan Sharif taking Mark Woodâs wicket, England got wrapped up at 365. Eoin Morgan takes this as an important lesson and believes England will recover from the loss.
âA one-off game like this, to bring your best game is very difficult to do, they played well and deserved the results. It's not the end of the world for us, it was a really good run out and good to have a practice coming into the series against Australia,â Morgan said.
âI don't think we were far away, we go to a ground now that we know really well in the Oval, and we'll be up for the challenge. We didn't do enough to win, if we had won it would have been a bonus from where we were,â Morgan stated on the loss.
For Scotland, this was their first win after their nerve-wrecking five-run defeat against West Indies in the World Cup qualifiers in Harare in March, mostly due to the lack of DRS and the controversial DLS rule, as the game eventually cost Scotland a place in the 2019 World Cup.
