Mumbai T20 League | 11 players retained by their respective franchise for second season

11 players have been retained by their respective franchise for the second season of Mumbai T20 League. IPL stars Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer ,Surya Kumar Yadav and Shivam Dube have been retained by their respective franchise while North Mumbai panthers have retained only one player.

The T20 Mumbai League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Mumbai, India which will be played in round-robin format followed by playoffs. The league was formed by the Mumbai Cricket Association in 2018. Triumph Knights Mumbai North East were the inaugural winners while Shivaji Park Lions were the  runner ups. 

As per the League’s website, it is learnt that each team could retain two players, but North India Mumbai Panthers have retained only one player with auctions being scheduled on May 4th. While six teams played in the first edition, two teams have been added for the second. 

First edition Cup winners Triumph Knights Mumbai North East have retained Surya Kumar Yadav, who is currently playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and right-arm medium pacer Akash Parkar for the eight team T20 league.

Shivaji Park Lions have retained all-rounder Shivam Dube and Siddhesh Lad. The NaMo Bandra Blasters have retained Shreyas Iyer who is leading Delhi Capitals this season in the India Premier League, and wicket-keeper batsman Eknath Kerkar.

Jay Bista and Dhrumil Matkar have been retained by SoBo Supersonics whereas North Mumbai Panthers have stuck with Prithvi Shaw.

All-rounder Shubham Ranjane and medium pacer Tushar Deshpande have been retained by ARCS Andheri.
