Luck is a very unrated word in sport, but once in a while, it makes an appearance to make people realize the importance of it. Ziaur Rahman would surely have thanked his lady luck for appearing at the right time as the bails didn’t come off despite Farhad Reza’s ball hitting the stumps perfectly.

Forget the quality of Bangladesh Premier League and its broadcast for a while, and you will see a lot of funny moments coming out of every game. Be it an umpiring howler or the lack of RTS and HotSpot for a DRS dismissal, it has seen it all. They, however, managed to use the modern electronic stump for the game, which gave the moment of the day.

In the match between Comilla Victorians and Rangpur Riders, Reza bowled a short ball which first hit Ziaur Rahman on his body before going into hit the stumps, not touch it but actually hit the stumps. The lights immediately came flashing for a brief moment and the Riders thought they had their man.

However, to everyone’s surprise, the bails didn’t come off and Ziaur was almost smiling at his luck then. By then, Rahman was out of the batting crease and Mohammed Mithun was very quick to the ball but the batsman was back in his crease to take the run out of the equation.

Reza, who had come towards the stumps after his long follow through, was clearly dejected and couldn’t believe his hard luck. He took himself away from the glare almost instantly and looked down in despondency before resuming the next ball.
