Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a six-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings in Hyderabad. The home team demonstrated exceptional bowling skills limiting Chennai to 165/5 with their batting remaining steady and fostering crucial partnerships ultimately leading to their triumph at home.

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first against Chennai Super Kings in Hyderabad. Amidst enthusiastic cheers from the crowd during the toss, Ruturaj Gaikwad partnered with Rachin Ravindra to open the batting. However, their partnership didn't flourish as Ravindra fell to Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the fifth over. Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane steadied the innings guiding CSK to 48/1 by the end of the powerplay. Despite their promising partnership, Shahbaz Ahmad dismissed the Chennai skipper in the eighth over. Nonetheless, Shivam Dube and Rahane stabilized Chennai's batting, pushing the score to 84/2 in 10 overs. Dube's aggressive play came to an end when Cummins dismissed him at 120/3 in the 14th over. A well-set Rahane was dismissed in the 15th over but a resilient partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Daryl Mitchell helped CSK post a competitive 165/5 in 20 overs.

The Sunrisers began strongly with Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma reaching 35/0 in two overs that included a 27-run over from Mukesh Chaudhary. However, Deepak Chahar ended their partnership by dismissing Sharma in the third over after a quick cameo of 37 off 11 deliveries. Head and Aiden Markram then built a solid foundation, taking the Sunrisers to 78/1 by the end of the powerplay and 101/1 after nine overs. However, Maheesh Theekshana induced the much-needed breakthrough by outsmarting Head for 31 runs off 24 balls. Markram, on the other hand, managed a resilient half-century off 35 balls but departed in the 14th over. While Moeen Ali dismissed Shahbaz Ahmad in the 16th over with 143/4 on board, the equation was easy for the hosts. With 22 needed off 22 balls, it was just a matter of moment and eventually, the Sunrisers clinched victory by six wickets, with Nitish Reddy finishing the game with a six and 11 balls to spare.
