Following a contentious no-ball ruling that sparked debates over Virat Kohli's dismissal during the KKR vs RCB match on Sunday, the RCB opener has been penalized with a significant fine. This penalty stems from the RCB batsman's outburst directed at the umpires upon being adjudged out.

‌Virat Kohli has been fined 50% of his match fees for displaying dissent towards the umpire's decision following his dismissal in the Kolkata Knight Riders versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru match at the Eden Gardens on Sunday,  Kohli was seen arguing with the umpire Akshay Totre and Vinod Seshan after being dismissed by Harshit Rana off a slow full-toss, which Kohli played above his waist outside his crease. Despite Kohli's defence and subsequent review request, the third umpire confirmed the delivery as fair, leading to Kohli's dismissal.

Following the match, RCB's pacer Reece Topley addressed the press conference, emphasizing the Hawk-Eye measurement's outcome, "He (Kohli) was out of his crease and the ball was over his hip high. The measurement was taken with Virat inside the crease, so it’s a bit of a grey area. It’s a fine margin and would be spoken about in a match where the margin of victory is just one run.”
