According to Goal, newly promoted Serie A side Monza are weighing up dream moves for both Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi this summer with them set to make contact. The two Argentines are available this summer although while Dybala is a free agent, Icardi is contracted to PSG until 2024.

After an excellent 2021/22 season in the Serie B, many expected Monza to finish in an automatic promotion place, especially after their late push for second. However, the team fell short in the end and finished fourth but still managed to qualify for Serie A via the promotion playoffs. However, with their squad not quite up to the Italian top tier’s mark, reports have indicated that Monza are looking to bring in reinforcements with Barcelona’s Oscar Mingueza touted as an option.

However, Goal has reported that the newly-promoted Serie A side have set their sights on something much higher with Monza reportedly looking to make moves for both Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi. The duo are available this summer but while Icardi is contracted with Paris Saint-Germain until 2024, Dybala is a free agent and has been linked with a move to Inter Milan. The report has revealed that Monza’s club director Adriano Galliani has already reached out to both players’ agents with them hoping to reach an agreement.

But with Inter Milan reportedly closing in on a deal for Dybala, it could put the Argentine just out of reach for Monza although Icardi could be a valid option. PSG are reportedly targeting Sassuolo forward Gianluca Scamacca and are thus looking to offload Icardi this summer. But that is despite the fact that the forward has no inclination of leaving Paris and wants to see his contract out.
