After losing their fourth match in PKL 7, Telugu Titans’ coach Gholamreza Mazandarani has stated that they knew this season wasn’t going to be easy for Siddharth Desai as the other teams have studied him and made strategies accordingly. He also talked about the ineffectiveness of their defence unit.

Telugu Titans have now lost all of their home matches. Yesterday's game against Patna Pirates was their fourth loss in a row as they lost 22-34. The raiding in this match didn’t seem to be working. Last match’s hero Suraj Desai only managed to score one point while their main raider Siddharth Desai scored five. Telugu coach Gholamreza Mazandarani has stated that Siddharth is not a new player now and the other teams have found out ways to restrict him.

“If we look at all the top raiders in the league this season, you can see that they have found it difficult to score raid points this year. It's no different with Siddharth. He is no longer a new player like last season, so opposition teams have studied and created a plan to keep him quiet,” Mazandarani said in the post-match press conference.

Titans scored a total of eight points in the defence. Their main defenders - skipper Abozar Mighani scored only one point whereas Vishal Bharadwaj scored two points. The team made unnecessary tackle attempts and gifted points to the oposition side. Their defence lacked in the execution of strategies against the Patna Pirate raiders.

“We haven't been defending very well from the start and that's been costing us. It is putting us under pressure. But it's still early and what we're going to do over the next 4-5 days is to analyse what went wrong, regroup and change the results,” the Titans' coach concluded.
