Justice Mudgal, court-appointed observer to oversee the functions of the Delhi and District Cricket Association, is likely to move the Delhi High Court against the sports body for violating the court’s order by sacking selectors appointed by his panel.

"To me it appears that my directions and decisions have been overruled,” Justice Mudgal told PTI news agency. “I intend to bring this to the court's attention. I had already asked the court to relieve me of this duty. I will again request the court to relieve me.”

DDCA’s sports committee sacked former India cricketers Atul Wassan and Nikhil Chopra from its senior selection panel and removed former Test spinner Maninder Singh from the junior selection panel.

The committee appointed national selector Sarandeep Singh as chief selector and also included former leg-spinner Rakesh Shukla in the senior panel. Former Delhi wicket-keeper Vinay Kumar replaced Maninder in the junior panel.

Justice Mudgal had earlier told the high court that some directors of DDCA were willfully trying to "scuttle" the ongoing domestic season and had sought urgent orders to the cricketing body to implement the directions he has issued since August 22, the PTI report said.
