A score of 183 is usually a good one in a T20 game, but there are times when even a competitive score like this one is cut down to size by some unbelievable batting. And this was certainly the case when Alex Hales blasted 95 runs off just 30 balls to take Notts Outlaws to 106/0 after 6 overs.

Alex Hales is known for his hard-hitting approach to batting, but even by his own standards, he produced a gem of an innings during the Natwest T20 Blast encounter between Durham Jets and Nottingham Outlaws.

Having been set a challenging target of 184 to win, Notts needed to get off to a good start and Alex Hales ensured that they got exactly that and then some. The England opener blasted nine sixes and as many fours to take Notts to 106/0 off the first six overs at Trent Bridge, the highest power play score in the history of T-20 cricket.

And though the 28-year-old fell just short of equaling Chris Gayle's fastest-ever T20 century, which came off just 30 deliveries when he top-edged James Weighell to the wicketkeeper but his efforts helped his side chased down Durham's 183-7 in just 13.5 overs to win by five wickets.
