Jemimah Rodrigues' magnificent 112 from 58 balls guided Yorkshire Diamonds to a four-wicket victory off the final ball of the innings against Southern Vipers. However, her innings, which included 17 fours and one six, failed to secure the bonus point to keep the Diamondsā€™ finals chances alive.

In pursuit of the Vipersā€™ 184 for four, the Diamonds got off to the worst possible start losing a wicket off the second ball. Rodrigues walked in at No.3 and batted as if she were playing somewhere else entirely. In a chase that saw three players get out for nought, Rodrigues was aggressive from the outset. She hit eight boundaries in her first 20 balls to reach 42 and soon brought up her half-century from just 26 deliveries.Ā

Despite her teammates falling around her like ninepins, Rodrigues was undeterred, striking cleanly to all parts of the ground. Her century ā€“ which came from 51 balls ā€“ was four balls faster than Lizelle Leeā€™s hundred in the 2017 edition final. Rodrigues struck 17 fours during her ton, which are also the most by any player in a KSL inning.

With 341 runs in the season,Ā she stands as the second-highest run-getter in the tournament, and the first player from the Diamonds team to score 300+ runs in an edition of KSL ā€“ Beth Mooneyā€™s aggregate of 267 in the last edition being the previous highest.
