Eelco Schattoire is disappointed that their pre-season in the United Arab Emirates did not go as per his plans but he hopeful of catching up in the upcoming weeks. The trip to the middle had to be cancelled just after a practice match due to a breach of contract by the organisers and promoters.

The short-lived pre-season left Eelco Schattorie a bit worried in the build-up to the first season against ATK on October 20 and is yet to lock down his strongest eleven. But, the Dutch tactician is hopeful of catching up in the coming weeks although it is a huge challenge.

“Pre-season did not go the way I wanted it to. And after five weeks of working, I’ve not had the chance to see my strongest eleven. Hopefully, we can catch up in the upcoming weeks. For us, it is a huge challenge, but at the same time, we have to start somewhere. We have to try to make it work as soon as possible,” said Schattorie as per reports of newindianexpress.com.

The trip to the United Arab Emirates was cut short due to a contract breach by the organisers and the promoters which gives them little time to prepare themselves before the Yellow kick-off the season against ATK in the season opener.

Schattorie has a star-studded team at his disposal with the likes of Bartholomew Ogbeche, Mario Arques, Sergio Cidoncha, Gianni Zuiverloon and Indian sensation Sahal Abdul Samad.
