PKL 2019 | Best 7 of Ahmedabad leg ft. Vikash Kandola, Naveen Kumar and Sunil Kumar
Ahmedabad leg was tougher than expected as we saw the home team lose all their games for the first time. They have now lost six out of nine matches they have played so far. We also saw several close matches as well and here is the list of the top performers in the form of Best 7 of the leg.
Pawan Sehrawat, Raider, Bengaluru Bulls
He is currently the number one raider in the season with 87 points. Bengaluru Bulls played two matches in the Ahmedabad leg and lost both of them but Pawan had a great outing in both the matches. The first match was against Haryana Steelers in which he scored seven points, five in raiding and two in defence. In this match, his captain was more in form and Sehrawat did less raids but even then he gave his best. In the second match against UP Yoddha Pawan was lethal on the mat as he scored 15 points, 12 in raiding and three in the defence. He was the highest scorer for Bengaluru in both defence and offence. He is defending champions’ biggest assets and they hope he will continue his form in Chennai leg as well.
Naveen Kumar, Raider, Dabang Delhi
Currently, Naveen is third on the most raid points leaderboard board and is in brilliant form. Delhi has played only one match in the Ahmedabad leg and they emerged victorious in it. They played against Puneri Paltan and won by two points and in this match, Naveen scored the most raid points. He got another Super 10 in his kitty taking the total tally to five. He has the most Super 10s so far which indicates he is the most consistent raider for his team. Naveen along with Chandran Ranjit are doing very well for Dabang Delhi and taking them to victory.
Vikash Kandola, Raider, Haryana Steelers
Vikash Kandola was the top performer for his team in both the matches they played and won in the Ahmedabad leg. Despite coming late into the league Vikash has done some serious damage to the opposition. He scored 40 points in the four matches he has played till now. In the last two matches, he has led his team to victory by scoring 11 and 12 points respectively. He has shown what he is capable of and that he can single-handedly win games for his team.
Manjeet Chhilar, Left Cover, Tamil Thalaivas
Currently second on the most tackle points leaderboard, Manjeet Chillar has shown that he has still got what it takes to make a team win. Last season was not the best for him but he came back stronger in this one. He has scored 26 points in the six matches he has played till now and also been guiding his team throughout the matches. In the single match Thalaivas played in Ahmedabad, he scored four tackle points and assisted in other tackles as well. He is supreme form and will hope to continue this in the upcoming home leg as well.
Sunil Kumar, Right Cover, Gujarat Fortunegiants
Ahmedabad leg may have not gone as planned for his team but individually it went well for him. Gujarat lost all four of their home matches but Sunil ended up scoring 14 points in four matches. He did exceptionally well in matches against Tamil Thalaivas and Bengal Warriors where he scored six tackle points each. In the match against Bengal, he effected as many as three Super Tackles and made his team come back into the game. He has immense potential and is doing good but would also hope he could win more matches for his team.
Vishal Bhardwaj, Left Corner, Telugu Titans
Vishal Bhardwaj is slowly getting back in form for his team Telugu Titans. He is also currently number two in most tackle points leaderboard with 26 points in eight matches. In their match against Gujarat Fortunegiants, Bhardwaj scored seven tackle points with a 100% strike rate. He silenced the Gujarat raiders and that was the biggest reason for their win. He would hope to continue this form so that they can win more matches and keep the play-offs dream alive.
Nitesh Kumar, Right Corner, UP Yoddha
UP Yoddha played two matches in the Ahmedabad leg and ended up winning one and losing one of the matches. In both the games, Nitiesh Kumar did well for his team. He has been the anchor of his team not only in defence but overall as well. In the match against Haryana Steelers, he scored three crucial points and assisted in other tackles as well. He is seen guiding his teammates which is one of his most important roles as a captain. He would hope to do better in Chennai leg as his team needs him to perform and win games.
