Michael Schumacher showing âencouraging signsâ in his recovery: Ross Brawn
Former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn has revealed that Michael Schumacher is showing encouraging signs in his recovery from injuries suffered during a skiing accident in 2013. Brawn also said that most of the speculations about Schumacher's condition are wrong.
Schumacher sustained severe head injuries in a skiing accident in December 2013 in the Alpine resort of Meribel and there have been several contradictory reports about his condition ever since.
The 47-year-old was in induced coma for six months, but reports as recent as September said that the German is still unable to walk without assistance.
However, Brawn, who headed the Ferrari team during Schumacherâs dominance on the F1 track between 1996 and 2006, said that most of the speculations about the Germanâs health are wrong.
"The family have chosen to conduct Michael`s convalescence in private and I must respect that. Â
"There are encouraging signs and we are all praying every day that we see more of them. So it is difficult for me to say very much and respect the family`s privacy.
"All I would say is there is a lot of speculation about Michael`s condition.
"Most of it is wrong and we just pray and hope every day that we continue to see some progress and that one day we can see Michael out and about and recovered from his terrible injuries," Brawn told the Telegraph.
Schumacher has been receiving specialist medical care at home on the shores of Lake Geneva since September 2014.
