After starting well at the Asia Road Racing Championship, the Indian racers eventually ended the concluding day on a discouraging note with Rajiv Sethu ending 12th in race 2 while an unfortunate Chandrasekaran Senthil had to opt out in the first lap itself after experiencing a technical snag.

India couldn't repeat their Race 1 display on Sunday with both Sethu and Senthil having bad days on the circuit. After coming up with his career-best ARRC performance on Saturday, where Sethu finished 10th, the cold and cloudy Sunday morning saw him starting in the 12th position on the grid before falling to 15th position.

Though he made a quick recovery in the third lap to go up to the 11th position by overtaking Viet Nam Coe and Muhammad Faerozi Toreqottullah, he couldn’t get another top 10 finish this time. Eventually, after maintaining his 11th spot till the eighth lap, Sethu lost his position to Toreqottullah and finished 12th.

Chandrasekaran Senthil was India’s other Honda rider, who had also had a decent outing on Saturday finishing 17th. However, Senthil had to opt out in the first lap itself of the 10-lap race after he experienced a technical glitch in his Honda CBR 250CC. He was seen heading back to his pit lane.

"The start was good for me. The plan was to stay calm, wait for the opportunity to move to the front and then plan accordingly. It was disappointing that I couldn't finish in the front batch. But the good part was that I recorded my fastest lap time in the ARRC," said Sethu, reported TOI.
