IPL 2019 | Amitabh Bachchan's AB Corp looking to invest in Indian Premier League
Bollywood legend, Amitabh Bachchan, is thinking about investing in a new IPL team after already purchasing teams in the Indian Super League and the Pro Kabaddi League. Amitabh’s elder son, Abhishek Bachchan, co-owns PKL’s Jaipur Pink Panthers and ISL’s Chennaiyin FC.
Amitabh Bachchan is known for his vocal opinions on sports in the country and is always tweeting something or the other about an ongoing sporting event. As per recent reports, the Bachchan family, that already has interests in Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Chennaiyin FC and Pro-Kabaddi League franchise Jaipur Pink Panthers, has now set their eyes on investing in the Indian Premier League.

“Yes, Abhishek (Bachchan) met Manoj Badale (Co-owner of Rajasthan Royals) in London some time ago,” AB Corp CEO Ramesh Pulapaka confirmed to TOI without going into further details.
Many other investors, apart from the Bachchans, have their eye set on investing in the IPL tournament. However, Rajasthan Royals still linked to Lalit Modi’s co-brother-in-law Suresh Chellaram’s family, the question remains whether BCCI will agree to any such sale of the majority stake.
