India’s Rajiv Sethu finished at the 12th position after the Race 2, Round 3, of the Asia Road Race Championship (ARRC) at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand’s Buriram. Alongside his teammate Senthil Kumar, the Indian team finished in the seventh place out of 15 participants with 22 points.

Rajiv Sethu failed to enter the top 10 of the Asia Road Race Championship (ARRC) as he finished at the 12th spot in Thailand on Sunday. Although the 21-year-old Indian looked good after a poor Race 1, where he finished 22nd, it was not enough for him to push him into the top 10 of the Championships. Rajiv’s teammate Senthil Kumar finished 21st while the overall team, with 22 points, stayed at the seventh place among 15 participating teams.

“Today, I raced my best out of my 24 ARRC races in three years. For the first time, I fought in top five in two laps and I had the opportunity to be in the front bunch of AP250,” Rajiv was quoted as saying by IANS.

“Overall, I learnt a lot and will be using this experience going forward. Last year, after my wrist fracture, I couldn’t race well in Japan. This year I will surely benefit from my experience in Suzuka 4-hour endurance race next weekend and will apply the learning in the upcoming June-end round in Suzuka.”

The next round of the Championships will be held at the Sukuza circuit in Japan from June 28 and 18-year-old Senthil is aiming to learn a lesson from the round at the ‘toughest’ track in the world.

“I couldn’t match my target, but I learnt a lot here. With the next race in Suzuka circuit, probably the toughest track in the world, I am excited and waiting to learn there,” said Senthil.
