Sania Mirza and Sanjay Manjrekar got into a war of words on Twitter while discussing the tennis star's 80 consecutive weeks on top of the "doubles rankings". While most people congratulated Mirza on her success, Sanjay Manjrekar called her out for missing out on an 'important detail.'

The exchange started when Mirza tweeted about her "amazing journey" en route to becoming the top-ranked player in the world. She was called out by Manjrekar who reminded the Hyderabad-born player on missing out on the fact that the rankings were for doubles.

Sania then returned the favour with a shot of her own stating that since she hadn't played singles for a while, it was implied that the rankings were for doubles. She didn't stop there adding that "common sense is not that common after all I guess".

The former cricketer, however, wasn't ready to let it go that easily explaining that she had missed out on an "important detail" for people who do not follow tennis religiously.

But that wasn't the end of the matter as Sania came back with a tweet containing a link to a WTA article about the rankings where the headline read, "Sania Mirza hits 80 consecutive weeks as World No. 1."

Manjrekar put in the last word when he replied that the article quite clearly mentioned that the rankings were for doubles. Taking help from some clever cricket terminology, he finished off by saying "will leave all balls outside the off stump alone now".

While I still can't make up my mind on who won the war of words, who do you think was right?
