Star tennis player Sania Mirza played the last match of her career as she lost the first-round encounter at Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. The 36-year-old lost in straight sets along with American partner Madison Keys 4-6,0-6 to Russian pair of Veronika Kudermetova and Liudmila Samsonova.

Starting her career around 20 years back, Mirza went on to win six Grand Slam titles and is by far the most successful women's player in India. She also participated in four Olympics for India, but unfortunately could not win a medal there. Meanwhile, tributes poured in on social media for the former world no.1 doubles player.
