Hima Das and Mohammad Anas continued their winning streak on the international stage as they clinched the gold medal at the Athleticky Mitink Reiter event, in the Czech Republic. This was Hima Das' sixth gold medal in Europe since July 2, although the competition has been mediocre.

Indian athletes’ dominating performances at the international tracks and fields continued on Saturday with Das and Anas won the gold medals in the women's and men's 300m races respectively. Das’ last win came last month on July 20, when she had won the gold in her pet 400m event at Nove Mesto in the Czech Republic.

"Finished on the top in 300 m in the Athleticky Mitink Reiter 2019 today in Czech Republic," Das tweeted after winning the race.

Anas managed to win the men's 300m race in 32.41 seconds with the National record holder already being qualified for the 400m event at the World Championships, scheduled to be held in Doha in September-October.

"Glad to have won the Gold in men's 300m at the Athleticky Mitink Reiter 2019 in the Czech Republic in a timing of 32.41 secs," he tweeted.

Das, however, has yet to get into it. After taking a 45-day exam break, Das has lagged behind most of her opponents. She was immediately forced to pull out of the 400m heats at the Asian Championship owing to back pain before she competed in the 4x400m relay squad at the World Relay meet in Japan.

However, India’s first world U-20 gold medalist would still be needing to participate in two or three more events in Europe to make the cut.
