The All-India Junior Selection committee has named Prabhat Maurya as replacement for Rasikh Salam in the India U19 squad that is set to play a one-day Tri-series in England. Salam has been banned by the BCCI for two years following a discrepancy – submission of faulty birth certificate to BCCI.

For the first time in the history of J&K cricket, two cricketers were selected for India Under-19 team which is going to play in a series in England, but that took a severe beating as the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education informed the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) that the cricketer has fudged his age.

As per documents accessed by IANS, the board has made it clear to the JKCA that the age Rasikh has provided to the cricket association doesn't match that of the board's record as registered during his Class 10 examination.

"The All-India Junior Selection committee has named Prabhat Maurya as replacement for Rasikh Salam in the India U19 squad that is set to play a one-day Tri-series in England starting July 21, 2019. Mr. Rasikh Salam has been banned by the BCCI for two years following a discrepancy – submission of faulty birth certificate to BCCI," BCCI said in a press release.

India U19 Squad for the tournament is as follows: Priyam Garg (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Thakur Tilak Verma, Divyansh Saxena, Shaswat Rawat, Dhruv Chand Jurel (WK), Shubhang Hegde, Ravi Bishnoi, Vidyadhar Patil, Sushant Mishra, Prabhat Maurya, Sameer Rizvi, Pragnesh Kanpillewar, Kamran Iqbal, Priyesh Patel (WK), Karan Lal, Purnank Tyagi, Anshul Khamboj
