Ravi Shastri has revealed that he had no say in Ambati Rayudu being dropped for the 2019 World Cup in England. Rayadu, who was a regular in India’s ODI setup during the 2018-19 season, was rather surprisingly overlooked for the tournament despite having excelled at the No.4 spot in the build-up.

Linda Zondi, South Africa’s former chief selector, opened up on the exclusion of AB de Villiers’ from South Africa’s 2019 World Cup squad, stating it would’ve been 'unethical to the players already selected'. De Villiers had expressed his desire to return from retirement to participate in the event.

Vijay Shankar, who made his World Cup debut in the crunch encounter against Pakistan last year, revealed how a Pakistan fan abused Indian players in a coffee shop, a day ahead of the game. Shankar revealed that the players sat there just copping the abuse that was being thrown at them.

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has echoed the sentiments of several ex-Pakistan cricketers and has stated that the Indian side did not play with intent in their game against England. Hafeez further stated that as a fan, he felt bad for the sport watching India show no intent against England.
